<I thought you went long because of AMD potential, had a change of mind after the quarter results?>

I kind of wavered after the latest $200 million warning, but then when I saw the support at 17, I decided to add some more. My view is the same as Paul's, that the price will run up sometime this year, hopefully from the short-term hoopla surrounding Athlon.

One way this could happen is if AMD decides to make the transition from K6-x to Athlon much more quickly than expected. AMD said they lost customers for K6-x, so it will be easier for them now to walk (crawl?) away from that market. Then AMD can shotgun Athlon production, claim they're making more than they originally expected, and "wow" the crowds with their new-found Athlon volumes.

I know, it's legalized gambling, and I'll probably get burned if I turn out to be wrong. If I am, well, at least I can look back and just call it a mistake of my youth.
