I know that Amazon employs quite a few former Microsoft marketing managers (there was a major defection from the Microsoft Access database team over to Amazon about a year and a half ago). To my knowledge these are all very bright and very experience people - I think Bezos has a very talented management team.

By the way - I am new to this discussion. I've been following the thread as a non-member for the past week, and today decided to join. To start, I will let people know that I am short AMZN - I held a short earlier this week - shorted at 119 and then covered at 114 yesterday. Today I shorted again at 112. As such, I have a bias in that I believe the stock will go down. I think AMZN is over-valued, as I believe are many of the big name internet stocks. And while a perceived over-valuation has not stop investors from driving up the prices of these stocks in the past, I believe that investor sentiment may be changing - that investors may be starting to demand greater assurance that profitabiliy will be achieved at some point.

Thanks,
-Eric Wells
