visionthing, RE: It seems as if, with the scenario that you created (such a small float available)--We may look for this in the future, maybe even several more times. Doubtful. Even with the small float + large institutional interest of RMBS, a true short squeeze (and its unwinding yesterday and today) is a rare thing. have shorted many a 'tight' stock over the years, and have never had stock called in. Remember, though, that I'm just guessing as to the action today. I have not made the checks to various stock loan departments, as I would do if I was contemplating taking a position in RMBS today.
