Transmedia was purchased to assist in the churn from circuit to packet based networks. The ATM stuff was not the issue...

San Jose-based TransMedia develops technology that unites multiple voice communication
networks, bridging the gap between traditional phone lines and high-performance Internet lines.

Cisco, also based in San Jose, said the acquisition complements its commitment to migrate from traditional circuit-based
phone networks to packet-based systems that carry voice transmissions in bits of digital data, the company said in a
statement Thursday.

Although Transmedia has some ATM technology, ATM was the least reason to make this purchase.

Take off the glasses dude.

What company did CSCO buy to do CES. Geez.... CSCO is loaded with CES technology. True CSCO might have purchased a company that has some circuit emulation technology but I will tell you that the purchase was for other reasons. You're a piece of work.

BTW: What were these other 2 ATM companies you mentioned. You said there were three. Transmedia was purchased...not as an ATM company and they were never considered to by in the "ATM space".
