Well, I do consider the situations to be different. Although both Nixon and Clinton lied, Nixon's had to do with getting himself elected (the break-in, the ensuing cover-up, etc.). To me, although Clinton lied (which IS wrong), it was related to a "personal" matter.

They both erred but, at least to me, the underlying circumstances mattered differently.

Also, Nixon WAS going to be thrown out of office & Clinton was acquitted.
(Note the lack of editorial comment by me on that!)
