RDM: <<Do you know of specific initiatives?>>

IMHO, Jerry's most brilliant stroke in the latest CC is the revealation that AMD is prepared to call truce with Intel. Here are AMD's initiatives, if you will, both in action and words.

1. Officially abondoned the 25% dicsount policy starting from K7.

2. Walked away, rather than matching, from Intel's Celeron combo deals

3. “Sanity will prevail.....we believe that there is room for two suppliers”

4. “We cannot wage a price war that we can not win”

Whether Intel will respond, we'll see. The most important question in my mind right now is Whether Intel will start to dramatically cut PIII's price.

If Intel choose to slash PIII prices, the category of $1200 and above PCs will be gone.

The result will be devastating to every players in PC industry, off course, AMD will suffer the most.

It is the right time and right place for Jerry to call for truce with Intel. I just hope that CB will respond favorablly.
