You bet they will, in a heartbeat, provided AMD can deliver...the big ????.. An Athlon, faster than a Xeon but at Pentium III prices is a very attractive product.
Look at the stock price today. A 200M loss coming but the stock holds up. Someone is looking at the Athlon, not the loss. Like Paul said on the Intel thread, if AMD blows this opportunity they will be the laughing stock of silicon valley....not that Jerry isn't already.
I'm also hearing that a lot of the 2.3m inventory is a stockpile of high MHz chips making way for K7 space. This could be baloney though.
