Timbur, It may have more to do with multiple generations of voodoo products with scattered traces all over your hard drive than a voodoo3 problem. Michael

At least make sure you report the problem and see if it is known or unknown. There must be plenty of other people running EQ on V3, so if it is a V3 problem you will likely find others who have seen it. Also, once you've cleaned up the drivers and registry you might try reinstalling the V3 to see if you've solved the problem yourself. This would be likely if the problem hasn't been seen by anyone else.

timbur -- your v3 drivers,etc. Um, One thing that occurred to me then you described your system was that maybe the V3 didn't work/locked up because of all of the legacy drivers from previous 3dfx boards. Now that you have all of that crap cleaned out, maybe the V3 will work. Be sure you clean out all the Banshee drivers on your backup system before you install the V3. I haven't played everquest, but I have NO problems with the V3 on anything. Oh, BTW, Aliens vs. Predater is awesome. I have NOT tried the multiplayer, but single player is great. WARNING. Playing as either the predator or the Alien is very macabre from a human's point of view. Furthermore, the game is almost mind numbingly hard on the hard level, bit I've decided I like it that way. Very well done game. Very fun. PC Gamer has a good review if you don't believe me. Playing the Alien is a little like driving a race car, you move so fast. It's lots of fun. I think they lifted some ideas from the Gloom mod for Q2, which is aliens vs marines. Playing as Predator is probably easiest because you can both see and shoot. The Marine can hardly see and the Alien cannot shoot. Three games in one. Very nice. Joe theclq.com PS. This board for me is an awesome directory to gaming and building your own PC.
