Lots of DVD movies............................ dvdinsider.com DVD PRODUCTION UPDATE - 6/25/99 DVD production and sales are clearly on the rise. As of June 11, 1999, 2,970 titles were released and made available to be purchased. By September 30,1999, 3,481 titles will be made available for purchasing. The largest DVD format being purchased is the DVD-5 at 77.52 percent of the market, followed by the DVD-10 at 13.85 percent and the DVD-9 at 8.09 percent. However, according to the percentage of DVD titles to be produced and released 78.47 percent are DVD-5, DVD-9 is apparently on the rise at 11.94 percent, and DVD-10 at 7.44 percent. The percent of titles in the three DVD video formats are Pan & Scan at 34.9 percent, LetterBox at 31.2 percent and Anamorphic Widescreen at 33.7 percent
