Herb,

Does that sound like a peace initiative to you?

The cold war peace was maintained through a policy of MAD (Mutual Assured Destruction.) AMD now has nuclear missiles (K7) of their own, and they are pointed at Santa Clara. Peaceful coexistence may appear more attractive to Intel under these compelling circumstances.

There is no true peace initiative not backed by the determination to fight if necessary.

AMD will not surrender.

AMD needs peace and has unequivocally expressed that desire.

So do I and you, and every investor in AMD and Intel. And for that matter, all the players in PC industry.

A stabilizing MPU environment will harbinger the stabilization of PC market. As you know, there is a great deal of concern over that market these days.
