I don't know... I have heard this for a few years too. Never with
a name attached to it. Perhaps a Digital "spokesperson" made
those claims. Doesn't much matter
now... if you look at the numbers (we see real numbers soon) they
scale better than linear... (i.e. 667 MHz 21264a does
better than "expected") How? This Hot Chips presentation will

Much improved scheduling... perhaps the folks in '98 were pointing
to a day when 21264 gets better, not the "initial" 21264 that
Keller spoke of at MPR forum October 1996.
