Good point that an alias does not protect you from responsibility for libelous, slanderous, or disparaging remarks. But I am suggesting the reason for hiding behind a handle is privacy, not for empowerment to liable or slander people, or to disparage companies and/or their products.

Good point. <gg> I see you unearthed a momentary verbal spasm of mine. Unfortunately, there are probably more hanging around here and there on the web. Unlike crank letters to the editor, they don't seem to fade away into the forgotten, do they? Strange, this web thing. When will someone clean house and wipe it all out so we can start over, wiser and perhaps more discretely?
