I don't know enough law or details of the case to comment. However, from earlier publications I've read to date, pc133 from via is already dead. PC133 offerings from via have already been withdrawn and are flat dead. This is the information that was previously posted but, it's amazing how these things come back as if to have nine lives!!

"The first product is an integrated chipset for low-price Intel-based PCs that combines a
standard chipset with a graphics component from Trident Microsystems. Under its
arrangement with Trident, Via markets the chipset to desktop customers, while Trident
markets it to notebook makers. The legal problem: Because Trident does not have an Intel
license, Trident's marketing efforts constitute a violation of the agreement, McCarron said."

"A source at Intel discounted the idea that memory support is the main issue in the lawsuit."

Dutch, if Trident sought a license on the same basis as its competitors, then maybe, but Trident did not seek (or does not have) such a license, since S3 for instance has a license from INTC, INTC is not controlling that market, apart of that, I think that the issues with INTC and anti trust have just been resolved, so I doubt they will reopen this can of worms if they were not on solid grounds. Just a "layman opinion" of course. In any event, that does not affect RMBS, except that the "dead 133" is deadier, by an iota.
