You could have been Gates roommate Paul Allen grew up with Gates. It was Ballmer he met at Harvard. Allen was the true programmer. Gates couldn't program out of a paper bag. He's the one who ported the Basic compiler to the Altair and did the simulation on the Dec PDP. I would also bet he's the one who got QDOS (buggy version of CPM) to work on the IBM PC. Business wise he's a zero and has wasted billions on failed ventures. MH
