Richard Close metastock when you are downloading, unzipping, setting up new folders, etc. Both to a degree like to be alone. That was my first instinct after the problem showed up. Same mess with MS both opened and closed. Although I did create the MsData file with both apps open. I agree on QP stability. This is my first problem after having used downloader for a couple months+. I'm sure I messed up somewhere during the MS install. Thanks for your input, Richard. Maybe Sean W. will pity me enough to jump in and make everything work<g> Clarence
