Todd,

I've been thinking about your earlier post re consolidation in the industry and specifically the possible acquisition of THQI by a major toy or media company. It makes a lot of sense in several ways.

1. Consolidation is virtually inevitable given the low valuations of the smaller companies.

2. THQI is not a likely candidate for acquisition by another video game company due to its unique management style. It simply wouldn't fit.

3. (My contribution) It seems to me that the two industries you mentioned (toys and media) are both seriously threatened by the video game industry. Is there any doubt that children are replacing traditional toys with video games? As I understand it, the video game industry has - or soon will - surpass the movie industry in total revenue. Is it your opinion that these two industries must get into video games in self defense?

It'll be really interesting to see how all this plays out.

Jim

Todd once again there you go setting up expectations. Lets let this baby play out for once instead of trying to predict. As I'm sure you will agree EVERY time we try to predict we get disappointed. MAYBE JUST MAYBE this time will be different..
