But I think that if AOL, Yahoo, or MSN wanted to really get serious about Latin America they could cause a lot of problems for StarMedia. They could bring some serious competition to StarMedia.

They could also buy STRM with their own inflated stock if STRM was interested. The path of least resistance if STRM was up for sale.

Just an idle thought.

I think that if AOL got serious about LA they would seek to take out STRM as an aquisition such as they did with another ISP to have access to China. Given the $ that AOL has stacked up it s better for them to just buy the leader, STRM. Although I hear that a party is accumulating shares for some control or aquisition purpose, I would not be at all be surprised if AOL or Yahoo goes after STRM.... Either way, given the growth rate that I believe is occuring, the shareholders will be rewarded.... I too like AOL but at about $95. but just see STRM to be in a stage to wow wall st. just like AOL did a couple years ago.

I agree STRM is better than Que Pasa or Yupi etc, and MS, AOL, Yahoo, would need to Spend, but Money isn't the only way business happens in Latin America, and maybe MS AOL and Yahoo with their money may find out that STRM still has the upper hand in that market share.
I am,
