AT&T to boost Internet backbone to OC-192. AT&T revealed at its annual Data Networking Forum in Orlando, FL, that it will boost its Internet backbone to OC-192 in the first half of this year and offer private line service at that rate in the fourth quarter of this year. In addition, the carrier will offer OC-3 and OC-12 dedicated Internet access with a 60-day provisioning guarantee. AT&T already has an upgrade project underway that will raise its Internet backbone speed to OC-48. light-wave.com
