That's good news for PC makers planning major product refreshes this fall based on Intel Corp.'s forthcoming 600MHz Pentium III processor and 820 chip set.

Dell, for example, will announce a dual-processor-capable workstation using the 820 chip set. The workstation will sport a new chassis with greater cooling capacity along with the ability to offer up to 108GB of storage from four hard drives. The workstation will also offer 64-bit Peripheral Component Interconnect and next-generation SCSI. In dual-processor mode, the workstation will cost $3,000 to $4,000, Dell officials said.

Rambus is acting quite normal (for it). After the surges from the $70s it tested it's old high, and now has to test it's former resistance point. The numbers were close enough anyway.
