Dear QwikSand: We really appreciate your "SPECIAL" relationship with Scott. Next time he calls suggest that he tell Gates that if MSFT will give him a lump sum payment equal to 3 cents a share for the right to use JAVA he will stop badmouthing Gates for 3 weeks. JDN

Quicksand: I'm not kidding. Expectations are not always reached especially when the researchers and press play up an estimate. The real numbers are proprietary, internal information which even the insiders do not know exactly. One great thing about SUNW is their honesty.

If they were not going to meet expectations, they will always come out with a pre-warning. Most legitimate companies believe in getting the bad news out ASAP.

We were warned about the Y2K issue you know! This warning was made by the CFO that orders may fall off towards the end of calendar 1999. So, can this happen again? Sure.
