Mike: Thanks. Helps eliminate much of the noise. But (sadly) looks like even Zack limits itself to using adjusted actual reports. No way to get "run rate" earnings there - such as the Q's $.60 last quarter - which translates into $2.40/year if nothing happens at all to improve (or hurt) earnings. But perhaps the estimates reflect a depth of knowledge of the real situation on the part of the analysts. No way to know. Guess some minimum knowledge and homework is needed still to get a base on which to think and analyze.

To your knowledge, how does the Fool try to help less sophisticated investors deal with this sort of thing - i.e. start from a realistic earnings base?

Best,

Cha2
