Unc, MU always gives up ground grudgingly after one of its frequent disasters. Here is why: 1. They are telling the analysts and shareholders false stories about DRAM prices having hit bottom and now being on the rebound. They are even saying that DRAM prices are selling near $5. No way, Jose. See our buddy's, Bill Fleckenstein's most recent diatribe about this scamola at stocksite.com 2. For some reason, MU has many of the less cerebral analysts (the great majority) convinced that there will be a DRAM shortage in 2000. Why, when every producer is adding capacity and even those who are not spending huge sums are able to imporve yields on the equipment they now own. Silly stuff, but many believe it. For example, Mona at Gruntal, or is that Grunting at Moanal <g>, estimates that Mu will earn $1.45 in 2000. She doesn't even put the - sign in her estimate. The fact that she has never been close in the past doesn't prevent the herd from believing her. 3. The concept that Rambus will save them. MU is going into Rambus kicking and screaming and they have found out that bully boy Samsung already owns that turf, brown scabby patch that it is. <g>

What it comes down to is that MU is a master at spinning the fantasy story. They spun it with the now defunct Microstamp, with flat panels, with flash memory and with Burst Edo, and they even spun it with the brave little pc co. they own. Always lead with your best lie, is their motto. The herd eventually figures this out, punishes the stock severely, and then takes it up again on the next good lie. Right now, the herd is still in the "starting to wonder about the forecasts" stage. Rapid descent will follow.
