This stock is not about earnings, although obviously earnings do affect it. This stock is in play ...and will move based on market sentiment regarding how close we are to a deal.

Dave: I'm with you. No one can look at all the positive things occurring at CS. The balance sheet and cash look strong. Products are receiving good reviews. Management changes, a good track record of service and support, and bringing the company into public visibility with their ongoing mass advertising campaign all bode well for the immediate future.

I was listening to Lou Gerstner on C-SPAN earlier this week, and he indicated that (as have many others) we are five years into a thirty year shift in the information economy. As this kind of economical shift, of this magnitude, occurs only once every hundred years or so, CS is well positioned to profit in the near and long terms, let alone the possibility of a merger.
