Have switched from Fidelity to Ameritrade in Sept 1999. Have been very happy. Still on margin, but don't have to deal with the vagaries of Fidelity's margin department. Have substantially increased my net worth (major holdings have been ORCL, IFMX and PDE -- recently sold off some other techstocks and have bought some financial stocks (C, ONE, FTU, FTN, UPC and others).

Fidelity tried to get me back the week I moved my money out (offering to switch me from Spartan to their favored customer area) which was nice of them, but was really the first time I saw any real customer relationship management from them.

Ameritrade has been great - contacted me to give me a special 888 number, have gone out of their way to get options added to the Phil and Am. exchanges and do not constantly change margin requirements (I am unaware of a single change).

I would recommend that the best of protest for anyone unhappy with a broker is to move their money elsewhere.

P.S. Also have lesser amounts with Brown and Etrade -- very happy with Brown, moderately happy with Etrade.
