I think discussion of fundamentals is a waste for amzn (the stock). In the past the only factor that determined its price is broker notes, re-its and upgrades. Lately brokers have been silent. But they always are at this stage in the quarterly cycle. If brokers see that the background is un-helpful, they'll not speak, and amzn will just drift. But after Tuesday, they'll likely start again. That will be critical. If the first couple of buy calls are met with yawns, then I think your short will work out. But if Yahoo shows strong revenue and increased page views, it will improve the psychology and brokers will start to push amzn again.
