Your guess on the timing of the one-piece desktop was pretty good

zdnet.com

"One of the first such products is likely to be a
forthcoming all-in-one desktop design similar to the
Profile system introduced last week by Gateway Inc.

Dell will use mostly notebook components, including
LCDs and mobile versions of the Pentium processor, to
achieve an ultra-sleek design, Everett [Senior Vice President of the Personal Systems Group] said. The system
should be available in the fourth quarter."

Best Regards,
Jim
