I know what you mean about the feelings of guilt when someone, even a mere acquaintance, commits suicide. One of my husband's grad school classmates leaped out a window in Chicago one summer. I had barely exchanged pleasantries with him a few times, yet I felt intense pain and wished I had at least known that he was in trouble.
