Well, I can't say things are going great here... My stepdaughter's father had her over for dinner and refuses to bring her home. Today we received a court summons for Tuesday because he wants custody. Now, appreciate that this man was divorced from my wife for mental and physical abuse of his wife and children, and that he has been diagnosed as having a paranoid character defect. My 12 yr old stepdaughter is now exhibiting symptoms of schizophrenia (hearing voices, screams, etc.), and since her father doesn't believe in or understand chemical serotonin deficiency (thereby inducing depression and anxiety - which the Univ of Mich Med Child Psych Hosp diagnosed her with 6 weeks ago after her suicide attempt) and since he doesn't believe in therapy as he feels everyone is out to blame something on him (see paranoid character defect above...) he has decided she should live with him and has an 'emergency hearing' set for Tuesday morning. But, on Tuesday we will request that every adult have a psychological evaluation (standard in these cases I understand) and maintain a dignified posture. The odd thing was that we had already decided she needed to spend maybe the next month with her dad, just so he could more fully appreciate her dysfunciton and illness and possibly allieviate some of her anxiety. Needless to say, I won't be online much Monday, and not at all Tuesday. I have run the watch list and will post today. Sorry to burden the thread with this, but after calling all the folks involved and being supportive for my wife, who is doing okay for now, I needed to air this a bit. Thanks for allowing me the space. scott
