NEWS: RENO, Nev.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--July 1, 1999--Itronics Inc. (OTC BB: ITRO) announced today that its subsidiary, Itronics Metallurgical, Inc., has hired a contractor and is now preparing to complete the move into its new plant in Reno/Stead, Nevada. Engineering drawings for the new facility were completed in early June and have been submitted to the Reno Building Department for approval. ''This was a huge challenge since no other plant exists anywhere in the world that could have been used as a standard,'' said Dr. John Whitney, Itronics President. ''All of the operations management people and office staff for Itronics Metallurgical, Inc. moved into our Reno/Stead facility in late May and operations are now managed out of it,'' said Dr. Whitney. ''Part of the new facility is operational, which provides us a natural incentive to get the rest of the installation completed.'' ''All equipment and tanks, except the pumps, have been delivered to the site for installation. Financing for the expanded project has come together and nearly all capital, including working capital for start up, is committed or in place,'' said Dr. Whitney. ''We are now targeting completion of equipment installation and start-up of operations for mid-to-late August.''
