Even if compaq doesn't turn out to be the suitor, this announcement might still be significant to a potential acquirer. Wouldn't you want these renegotiations to be completed if you were thinking about buying CS (from a valuation perspective).Just trying to put all the pieces together.

- clean up books
- clean up management
- prepare unit for spin-off (perhaps not needed by acquirer)
- complete renegotiations for a 10% customer
