David, the numbers I was looking at was reviewing the tie ratio of new drives sold vs the tie ratio of existing drives. dividing the entire number of drives sold by the total number of disks sold doesn't give a realistic picture (according to what i was reading) of expected number of disks to be sold with each new drive over a given time frame (i.e., within one year's time). you must configure a model to include the tie ratio of existing drives (over one year) and the ratio of new drives (those drives sold within a one year time frame) to get a realistic look at the expected revenue from the disks. i was giving examples, not necessarily the total sold.
