would-be independent Co. after IPO, to boost share value of MRV. >>

Totally agree, Mike. If MRV spins off their optical products division I would hope that they keep a significant percentage of the shares for themselves. If the stock were to jump to a huge premium the day of the offering (witness the Juniper offering) 20 or 30% of the stock might be worth more than they get from the underwriters for the IPO.....:))

We are holding up very well, in light of what has happened to other firms in this arena... CIEN and all the Semi companies (which MRVC was listed as until last August).

I think the comments about the sell off were done to raise market awareness of this sleeping giant. One division is worth a whole lot more than the entire company right now, and the 'Divisional Sell Off' comments were to raise the markets awareness of this.

I'd love to see an IPO of the Charlotte's Web at $34, and have it open at $100. Of course, we would have our pro-rata share distribution before the offering, I would hope. :-)

Anyway, we have potentially moved from a base of 10 1/2 to 12 on the comments alone. Let's see what uncle Greenie does to us, this coming week. A lot of folks I talk to say since all the talk has been 50 basis points, and the market is starting to react to that, what he will probably do is raise it only 25 basis points, and be considered a hero, and the markets will soar. Generally, when the large caps soar, we get hurt, but I think it will be different this time.
