<<<<<<<Dear blisenko: Well, I do not underestimate MD. Actually, I suppose DELL will do well now that CPQ is floundering. CPQ has a large market and just chewing on that will be sufficient for MD to come out smelling like a rose. JDN"

I do respect and would never underestimate any individual who has created a multi-billion dollar company but I do get a little nervous when they treat the person like a guru. The direct sales model has been around longer than MD has been alive. He was just smart enough to apply it the PC generation. What gets me, what makes everyone think that this model will prevail in the e-commerce/e-business internet model. Even if it does prevail as the preferred selling method, copycats of a non-exclusive model and decreasing margins scare me as an investor.

I see the PC being given away like a telephone cell phone to get the service contract. I see the internet changing the IT sales model from a product driven to service driven in the next decade. Heck, there are $200 internet Net/PC's being introduced today. The PC might be part of service contract. EOM
