FWIW, and I just posted this on the GNET thread, Charter Communications was here today to install a cable modem. I asked them about the set-top boxes - theirs is General Instruments. They upgrade the cable in a community, then launch, rather than bit by bit. Charter is working with Worldgate right now to develop the peripherals that unite a tv with a pc.

Wife had the cable installers at the house on Thursday (Whittier CA.) She asked the installer about interactive TV and to her surprise he was familiar with the technology. He commented that Marcus cable plans to offer it in the future. I am not surprised that Marcus Cable will offer it...just surprised the cable installer was aware of the technology. PHILM
