Managing Director- Broadband Strategy Reports to: VP of Operations Location: Seattle Position: You will play a primary role in managing and developing strategy and partnerships for Go2Net's broadband content and technology. The Managing Director must work collaboratively with much of the Go2Net team in areas of strategy, development, and production. Job duties include: Provide the vision, strategy and rollout for Go2Net's broadband portal. Secure and manage strategic business partnerships with Charter, as well as certain set-top box companies, third-party content providers and others. Drive program development through interactions with content providers and technology. Develop and execute against business model; provide business forecasts and budgets. Assess needs and requirements in order to drive schedule and ongoing relationships. Lead implementation and execution of plan from concept to launch. Qualifications should include: Strong vision of the future of broadband communications, including a strong understanding of the various hardware providers, operating systems and services such as VOD and IP telephony. Thorough understanding of the Internet, as well as the cable and entertainment industry. Five (5) years experience in strategic planning, business modeling, and executing against a plan. Understanding of current consumer preferences. Vision of future consumer trends. High degree of comfort working with senior executives, both internally and externally. Ability to identify, structure, negotiate, and close deals. Technical ability and ability to communicate end user requirements to technical staff and oversee project progress across functional engineering teams. BA/BS required, MBA preferred. Qualifications should include: Successful track record of new business development with major accounts, agencies, and key accounts. Excellent presentation and public speaking skills, strong local contacts, internet advertising/media sales experience. The online advertising requirement may be substituted with other media advertising, i.e., Cable TV, Broadcast TV, Print, or Radio. Five + years of successful advertising sales experience.
