<<<does anyone know if the reorganization will affect future earnings negatively>>>
Hard to tell, Jeff, but I would not place any bets against Dell.
Here is what an analyst thought about Dell in Dec 1997 after it sat around for 5 months and went nowhere.
biz.yahoo.com
<<<<The MAINTAIN POSITION rating was reaffirmed to reflect
the company's declining growth rate, increased competition and high valuation levels.>>>
Since we are faced with the very same problems today( declining growth rates, competition. etc), then its likely the Dell
could respond the same way it did in 1997. That is, in two months it could be up by 70% and split 2/1 and in 13 months it could be up by 440% following another 2/1 split, which would then be followed by another 2/1 split..
But of course a man would have to be durned fool to think that would happen again in one lifetime. Maybe just 100% and 1 or 2 more splits. Sig
