Came across a fellow who just bought an external Zip and 5 disks, and I merely suggested to look into Castlewood Orb. One week later, there was a thank you note for the suggestion and he is just thrilled with the Orb. Glad to see value conscious people out there. The Orb has better value and will take away sales from both the Zip and the Jaz. Spend a little more for an Orb with one gigantic 2.2 G Orb disk and additional disks at 30 bucks each (vs. 8 to 12 bucks for a 100 meg zip disk), or get huge savings getting an Orb and a 2.2 G disk (vs Jaz and 80-90 bucks disks). Whew!, that's a tough one to figure out, even tougher to appreciate, almost beyond comprehension.

>>Castlewood is a small company with low overhead. They don't have to sell as many Orbs as Iomega has to sell Jaz to make money.<<

Rocky -

Maybe. SyQuest was a much smaller company than Iomega as well, and their niche wasn't enough to support them.

Don't forget that you have absolutely no idea how many drives Castlewood has to sell to become profitable. And you won't have any idea until and unless they go public. You can assume whatever you want, but as the man said, it ain't necessarily so.
