Oh, goodie. I was waiting for someone to give me an entree to my latest: Chris and I took the boys to the NRA National Firearms Museum this afternoon. It was Nick's (younger child) idea. I am not the right person to write about the guns, I mean, it was a lot of guns, knowwhaddimean?, something like 500 years of guns, but I got a book in the gift shop, Lethal Laws: Gun Control is the Key to Genocide" by a few guys who belong to the "Jews for the Preservation of Firearms Ownership, Inc." Ben (older child) read it a couple of hours ago, and said that it proves that gun control is the first step towards genocide. Chapters about the Nazis, China, the Ottoman Turks, Soviet Russia, Guatemala and Uganda. These guys are absolutely convinced that "Never Again" includes don't take away our way of defending ourselves.

Whether the crime statistics in Florida come from the police is totally irrelevant to their actual meaning. Did you actually read my post discussing all the variables that go into overall gun death statistics? It does not seem from your simplistic response that you did. If you think that a right-wing statist type government could not only suddenly appear out of nowhere in America at the end of the twentieth century, take over, and still not have the military might to overcome armed, individual citizens, then you are not thinking logically. In any event, it is MUCH more likely that sweet and innocent civilians like me and my family will be somehow injured or killed by guns.
