Chrisy, whether or not it is a stupid investment only time will tell.
I do believe that one should generally invest in what what knows.
I do feel that most investors have no clue as to what their investments are really about. Understanding about a investment does not make one successful at it. I do think that understanding it does increase your odds of success vs failure. Each situation is different for each person. If you want to get a feel for what the science says about what xoma is doing, I suggest you read medline & input bpi. The more you read the more you will understand. Success is never assured.
