For further reference use this site's Comet/Simulator to observe the path of Lee: astroarts.com Forward the date to approx. Aug. 25 which is estimated time it will cross earth's path. Be sure to use the right-hand adjuster to bring the y-axis to the overhead view. It can also be adjusted downwards to view the passing from the vantage of the solar plane which, according to this model, shows the comet passing rather high over the earth's orbital plane. At the time of it's passing it should be over the N. hemisphere and visible in the evening sky. If bright enough it could be visible to the West during the day. If the simulator is accurate then unless Lee's orbit is somehow grossly affected IMO it's debris will be the wildcard.

Just surfing around SI and I happened upon your post... I follow the phenomenom (sp) of Marian apparitions closely. The Virgin has been making many appearance in the last 20 years, with several currently ongoing. A common theme is the need for prayer and pennance and a chastisement. Interesting, most of the seers say the Virgin tells them that the chastisement will take the form of fire and some have specifically stated that this will occur via a COMET. If you are interested in marian apparitions just type type marian apparitions on the search line of yahoo. perhaps the most significant ongoing apparition is occuring at medjudore (spelling may is off) yugoslavia. It involves 6 or 7 seers. The chastisement will not occur until all seers receive 10 ''secrets.'' All seers have received 10 secrets except for two, who each have received 9.
