Social Security. The Conservatives are moving toward privatizing the social security system. At least starting with 4%. There is a bill on the House even as we speak. Liberals, totally against it.

Medicare. The Conservatives tried to free up medicare by allowing medical 401K's. It was unfortunately vetoed by the President and lost during all the "Starving the Elderly" Clinton speeches.

Public Education. I just posted that Conservative Governor Jeb Bush is adopting vouchers in Florida. The liberals, completely against it.

Income Taxes. The conservatives cut capital gains taxes pretty dramatically last year. The liberals totally against it.

Shall I continue? :-)

Terry, I understand what you are saying in the broad context though. All these issues are moving way to slowly toward private enterprise, like I'm sure you desire. The only point I would make is we didn't get to this heinous state all at once. And we should not disregard incremental steps to move us back toward what the founding fathers envisioned. We need to live in the real world. And I believe if we elected a conservative President and a few key conservative Senators, we could attack some of these issues in a dramatic way.
