CBurnett: Looks like a hot portal site coming up in Asia. Everyone is trying to get in on the action including AOL. China.com should get an IPO in July. Lehman Brothers will serve as lead managing underwriter. China.com has filed to raise US $68 million in stock offering. They plan to sell 4.3 million shares with an overallotment option of 637,050. New World Infrastructure holds 25% and is the portal's largest shareholder. AOL holds 10% and is among its 5 largest shareholders. AOL bought warrants to purchase an additional 15%. On-line population in China in 1998was only 2.,4 million. China.com has 4 main sites including China, Hong Kong and Taiwan. Together the sites have only 400,000 registered free e-mail users. I guess, like all portal sites such as China.com, FreeServe and x-stream, people are not buying in the present. They are buying into the future. China has a population of 1.2 billion.!!! Note: X-Stream alone is not far off 400,000 Internet users.???
