I am large. I contain multitudes. A foolish consistency is the hobgoblin of little minds. I calls them as I sees them. I think the world has been much better because of oppressive taxes (screaming to be evaded) on the very rich. As Marx pointed out -- capital accumulates. The rich guys can hardly help getting richer, even though they are prosecuted for it.
If I could change the tax system, I would. But I would change people so they were more efficient, more learned, more industrious (when they worked), saved and invested more. Then it would not be so difficult to raise the money society needs to function, and there would be far fewer dependent people.
