My thoughts exactly. I honestly believe that Intel is still paranoid under Barrett. Planning for the future is both short term and long term and Intel stays nimble enough to correct mistakes. I like that.
And I love their investments in new technology, their own as well as that of other companies. Their long running venture into networking is paying off. And the commitment to supply telcoms is heartening as well. Seems like Intel may have adopted McNealy's, "The network is the computer" mantra.

Anyone: When did Andy Grove first mention a billion networked computers? I can't remember but would appreciate someone with that detail at hand sharing with the thread.
