The ZIP drive has a universally recognizable name like Coke and will probably be the name brand people will ask for when they need a backup device of some kind. The Zip disk will be the product of choice replacing the floppy until someone comes up with a 1 Gig device, the size of an old quarter that drops into a slot in your PC or laptop and costs <$20.

Unfortunately with the Orb, the user will have to drag hardware along
when they need to use the disk on other computers that are Orbless. As an at home backup device any product will suffice. One just hopes the hardware used to read the disks remains in production. SYQuest comes to mind.

At the moment IOM with its Zip products has won the name game. Whether they can turn profitable in the next few quarters is cause for debate.

I see you have risen from the "dead" and back to your Crocky style posts. As you old buddy Crockster would say, where are the Facts? Seems to be a lot of personal opinion and speculation is all that you have to offer today.
