Mad Dog-- Thanks for the link.

I generally agree with the Bloomberg article. There is something said for conventional wisdom.

But, I keep having nightmares re: massive redemptions on the part of the Japanese, hedge funds, Japanese hedge funds...

Any thoughts appreciated.

U.S. government debt may lure investors looking for a safe place to park their money before year end in the event computers overseas read the year 2000 as 1900 and shut down, hurting financial markets and economies.

That's what I'm betting on. Just switched the wife's TSP program to the G fund.

Corporate bonds have been competing with T-bills over the past several months (fearing they couldn't float their offerings in the face of Y2K and also trying to beat the Fed hiking rates).

The fall should belong to gov't issues as we likely see another relapse of Asian Contagion.

Regards,

Ron
