I had the opportunity to make a test call on an iridium phone Friday. The quality was pathetic, almost unusable. Granted this was just a single call from Southeast Alaska to California, but it was awful. The delay and clipping was reminiscent of early Geo sat calls. I will have access to this phone for the next month on a trial basis. I will update after more testing.
