I'm not going to be able to do this as well as ahhaha could. LTCM was a hedge fund that did arbitrage plays and went under. LTCM was computer generated.

A hedge funds usually hedges and was once considered a safe play. Now however borders have overlapped. I think this is probably due to pressure place on money managers to perform and get your 10 to 20% on a regular basis. Bonds are probably safer.

To time the market to the T I think is very hard. Logic states to me that interest rates are going higher. These rates combined with few other goodies that are happening in the world should cause this market to go lower, but i can't promise this.

My feeling is you buy a good stock you believe in, it will come backup even if the market tanks. This however depends on your age and risk tolerance.
