The Renaissance Capital pick is good news, if it doesn't close me out of getting shares. Certainly I would look at after-market shares very differently.

I spent some more time on their web site and the search engine is good. Plain English still is not the way to go, but you can be more natural than in other engines. My brother was querying MetaCrawler as I was querying AskJeeves and we got very similar results. (What was interesting is that most of the good link came from Alta Vista, so if I were to use a single search engine that would be it.)

I expect multi search protocol to increase in usage and be picked up by Yahoo and Lycos, the question is do they license Ask Jeeves or generate a program internally? The answer to that will determine the companies ultimate profitability. IMHO
