I drew my conclusions, and I know well where it comes from, namely that we short only the screamers, but avoid languishing, dull stocks to short. ...

We should look forward and watch IPO backdoors with critic eyes, even if they don't scream. Any even Mr. P$nks OTEX tends to deflate over time...

On a different note I am glad that a good friend left most of his KLOC position at a sheer unbelievable price. ... Inconsequent and silly that I did not take the opposite position.

HEADLINE: MOTHER OF 10 KILLED IN DOWNSTATE AUTO ACCIDENT

BYLINE: By Carri Karuhn, Tribune Staff Writer.

BODY:
Two Park Ridge children were listed in fair condition Friday in a Downstate hospital
after an auto accident killed their mother and injured their father, six of their siblings
and a family friend.

Park Ridge resident Lynn Swoboda, 40, was pronounced dead at the scene of the
crash, which occurred about 4:30 p.m. Thursday on southbound Interstate Highway
55 at the Sherman Road exit near Springfield.

With her in the family van was her husband, Tom, a Park Ridge police commander;
eight of their 10 children, 1 through 16 years old; and a 12-year-old family friend.

Victoria Swoboda, 12, and her sister Mary Rose, 9, were listed in fair condition
Friday in Memorial Medical Center, Springfield. The others were treated at Memorial
and in St. John's Hospital, Springfield, and were released Thursday.

Illinois State Police said Swoboda's 16-year-old daughter, Rebecca, was driving the
van when a trailer hooked to a pickup truck veered in front of her.

Rebecca swerved but collided with the trailer or the truck, police said. She lost control
of the van, which overturned before coming to rest on a frontage road.

The pickup overturned as it crossed into the northbound lanes and burst into flames. Its
driver, Todd W. Brummett, 35, of Auburn escaped from the truck before it caught fire.
He was not injured, police said.

The accident was under investigation, and no tickets had been issued as of Friday
afternoon, police said.

Swoboda, who was deaf, taught religious-education classes and visited sick and
homebound hearing-impaired individuals through the St. Francis Borgia Deaf Center in
Chicago.

"She just gave and gave and gave of herself," said Joseph Mulcrone, director for the
Catholic Office of the Deaf for the Archdiocese of Chicago, which oversees the St.
Francis Borgia center.

HEADLINE: 2-Car Crash Kills Lynn Swoboda, 40

BYLINE: JOHN W. ALLMAN

SOURCE: WORLD-HERALD STAFF WRITER

BODY:
Tom Swoboda was the ninth child of 13, born to an Omaha family that has been a
fixture in the city's musical growth since the 1940s.

He grew up, graduated from Creighton Prep and met the love of his life, his wife, Lynn,
while in college.

Thursday, he lost her in a traffic accident that leaves his 10 children motherless and has
family and friends grieving from Illinois to Nebraska.

Lynn Swoboda, 40, was killed when a truck struck the family's van about 4:30 p.m. on
Interstate 55 outside Springfield, Ill. State police are investigating the accident.

The Swobodas, eight of their 10 children and a family friend were traveling to St. Louis
for a soccer tournament.

Tom Swoboda's family has owned the Swoboda Music Center at 20th and Q Streets
for 50 years. His parents and most of his 13 brothers and sisters still live in Omaha,
said Tom Swoboda's sister, Sharon Swanson.

Tom and Lynn Swoboda had been married 20 years. He is a patrol commander for
the Park Ridge, Ill., Police Department and an assistant coordinator with the regional
Northern Illinois Police Alarm System. Lynn Swoboda had worked part time in the
past at the department.

According to initial reports, the Swobodas' van was struck by a truck whose driver
apparently lost control of the vehicle. Both vehicles rolled several times. The driver of
the truck was not injured, according to Illinois State Police.

Lynn Swoboda suffered serious head trauma in the accident, Swanson said.

Lynn Swoboda was born deaf, but she never let it hinder her, Swanson said.

Funeral arrangements have not been completed. A memorial fund has been
established, and donations can be sent to: Swoboda Family Fund, in care of Park
Ridge Community Bank, 626 Talcott Road, Park Ridge, Ill. 60068.
